Peel-o-feel
Although he mostly championed rock bands, I'd still like to note that it's John Peel Day. He basically had the job I dream of.

In the spirit of challenging specialty shows like Crisis! and Equinox, WUOG, 90.5FM presents New Orbit, the first program to primarily feature free/avant-garde jazz. Both current and past artists include Matthew Shipp, Cooper-Moore, Peter Brotzmann, Anthony Braxton, Cecil Taylor, Pharoah Sanders, Sonny Sharrock, Sun Ra, Art Ensemble of Chicago, etc. However, New Orbit also seeks to incorporate the artists influenced/informed by the "free-form" aesthetic in other areas of music such as John Zorn, Soul-Junk, The Flying Luttenbachers, Supersilent, William Hooker, Borbetomagus, and Derek Bailey.
